Avenue
For
Kids!
Sam
formed
Madison
Avenue
for
Kids
in
2000.
For
his
work,
he
was
recognized
with
the
team's
2004
Nat
Moore
Community
Service
Award,
the
second
time
in
his
career
that
he
has
earned
this
honor.
The
mission
of
the
Madison
Avenue
for
Kids
Foundation
is
to
motivate
and
inspire
at-risk
youths
and
their
families
to
achieve
a
better
way
of
life
through
educational,
social,
and
economic
empowerment.
Sam
Madison,
All-Pro
cornerback
of
the
Miami
Dolphins,
hasn’t
always
lived
a
privileged
lifestyle.
Growing
up
in
rural
North
Florida,
his
family
didn’t
have
very
much,
but
they
did
have
each
other.
Sam’s
parents
and
siblings
taught
him
the
importance
of
respecting
yourself
and
others,
education,
and
setting
high
standards
for
oneself.
These
attributes
have
helped
shape
a
successful
man,
who
had
nothing
but
dreams,
give
back
to
others
less
fortunate.
In
1999,
Sam
decided
to
begin
a
foundation
that
would
help
enable
today’s
youth
and
their
families.
Madison
Avenue
for
Kids,
Inc.
reaches
out
to
those
who
are
at-risk
and
who
would
otherwise
not
have
exposure
to
the
simplest
things
in
life.
From
Christmas
shopping
sprees,
educational
talks
and
school
supplies,
to
clothes
and
food
for
entire
families,
the
organization’s
ultimate
goal
is
to
see
smiles
replace
looks
of
sadness
and
desperation.
