THERASEED® ASSIGNED HCPCS Code
#C1325
On
April
1, 2001,
hospitals must use HCPCS
Code #C1325
to file reimbursement claims for TheraSeed®.
You will no longer be able to make
brachytherapy seed reimbursement claims
under HOPPS using the old code 79900
(Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment
System use revenue codes 333, 34X).
Only product-specific brachytherapy
codes will be valid for filing brachytherapy
seed claims. Please continue to use
code 79900 for all "non-federal" payers.
Theragenics
has been assigned a product-specific
code for TheraSeedâ. The HCPCS Code
for TheraSeed® is
C1325.
Generic codes
are still in effect until March 31,
2001.
The
Theragenics palladium-103 brachytherapy
seed was approved for pass-through,
effective August 01, 2000. This information
