PSA has formed a corporate partnership with UroCor, Inc. to market UroCor's radioactive I-125 sources for permanent prostate implantation—ProstaSeed™ .

This partnership brings unique value to our customers by combining PSA's expertise in all aspects of the procedure with UroCor's extensive experience with prostate disease. These two companies share an unprecedented commitment to quality which will benefit both the patients and their doctors.

ProstaSeed™ combines clinically proven radiological properties with high visibility on both CT and Fluoroscopy. While we urge our customers to evaluate and use the dosimetry data specific to ProstaSeed™, the fact is that within an experimental error, there is essentially no difference in dose distribution between ProstaSeed™ and historically widely used and evaluated I-125 source. And there is no need to compromise the dose uniformity as is necessary with some of the newer sources on the market, or radiographic visibility as with others.
