Hammock Platysmaplasty

The hammock platysmaplasty is a very useful and fairly new procedure that provides dramatic changes for certain individuals.

The procedure involves making a small incision in the chin area, removing excess fat, and trimming and tightening the platysma muscle that produces those undesirable neck bands. Usually, an absorbable suture is then placed around the edge of the muscle and secured under the skin to support the new neck line while the tissue is healing.

No face lift incisions are used and post operative discomfort is minimal with almost no swelling or bruising.

A compression wrap is used for a few days after the surgery as the skin tightens to its new position.
